Distraction Burglary Warning from Dorset Police

Today, there have been two reports of Distraction Burglaries in the Poole area

Two men have called at separate addresses stating that they were from the Water Board and needed the occupant to run their taps to see if blue dye came through the water system. The occupant at one of the properties allowed the males in and one man went with her to the kitchen. He turned the tap on and asked the occupant to monitor the water. The Lycka till! Please do not, under any circumstances, allow people into you home who are using this story. If you receive such a caller at your door, deny them entry, close and lock the door and dial 999 as soon as possible to report the incident.
Try to give a description of the men and details of any vehicle you may have seen them use.

Burgundy Wine Dinner at Harbour Heights Hotel Jan 21st

Live Reindeer on Christmas Eve at The Sandbanks Hotel

All Saints Christmas Fayre

2:15 – 4:30

Homemade gifts, jewellery, decorations and crafts  will be on sale as well as homemade produce and fresh bread. Guests will include the Mayor of Poole, carol singers and Father Christmas!!

Antique Fair at Compton Acres 14th November

p>Do you have an interest in Antiques?  if so why not come along to Grandma’s Attic Antique and Collectors Fair in the Italian Villa at Compton Acres on Sunday 14th November.  Compton Acres have kindly agreed to support Life Education Wessex by allowing them to use the Italian Villa for an Antiques Fair, so we are partnering  with Grandmas Attic who have dealt in quality Antiques throughout Hampshire and Dorset for 25 years.

There will be over 30 exhibitors selling fine china and porcelain to silver wear and jewellery and the entry fee is only £2.00. Compton Acres have kindly agreed to a discount off the entry fee into the gardens for those attending the Antiques Fair.

New Beach Fitness Class

Bournemouth Seafront have started running a beach fitness scheme on the seafront, aimed at those that do little or no exercise, starting of with seafront walks, cycle ride and building towards a run.  Its been done at a very affordable price of £1.50 Adults & £1.00 Concession.


Starting Tuesday October 12th at Bournemouth pier by Aruba and continuing every Tuesday at alternate piers (Bournemouth and Boscombe).


11:00 – 12:30 Seafront Walks

13:00- 14:00 Cycle Ride (Bikes can be hired if booked in advance for £5)

18:00 – 19:00 Seafront Run (Steady pace interspaced with power walking)
